About the workshop
When does teasing become bullying? When does being in love become controlling? When does texting become harassment?
There are different types of domestic abuse, including emotional, psychological, physical, sexual and financial abuse. Many abusers behave in ways that include more than one type of abuse. The boundaries between some of these behaviours are often blurred. This often means it is difficult to work out what constitutes abusive behaviour, and what does not. This can bring up many challenges for the therapist in the counselling room. During the workshop, we will explore working with those that act in an abusive and controlling way, and how to work safely with survivors.
