This course covers the signs of, helpful responses & appropriate signposting for common mental health issues. An NHS England endorsed course.The One-Day Youth MHFA has been designed to meet the specific needs of educational environments. Based on the Youth MHFA Course, it covers key topics around young people’s mental health and wellbeing, with a strong practical focus on how to support young people experiencing mental distress. Whilst not a replacement for the Youth MHFA Course, participants will become Champions for better mental health in schools.
The course will cover:
- What is mental health?
- Stigma and discrimination
- Non-judgmental listening skills
- The five steps of mental health first aid
- Eating disorders
The training will be a mix of presentation, group discussion and group work activities.
