Empower

group work aimed at young people who are experiencing problems with self-esteem

for teens aged 14+ to explore, explain and improve self-esteem within a positive supportive group.

Our aim is to create a safe and confidential space so young people can talk about real stuff and experience the positive POWER of group work.

The group work is aimed at teens:

  • who struggle to believe in themselves
  • who may have a low opinion of themselves – focusing on negatives
  • who may lack confidence
  • who may experience anxiety or depression
  • who may want to improve relationships with peer group and others
  • who are able to commit to attend each session

What format does the group take?

  • 8 sessions on a week evening 6.30-8 pm in Harrogate
  • The group will consist of up to 12 young people ready to talk and listen to each other
  • facilitated by 2 qualified counsellors from Wellspring Youth Project
  • each session has a theme to guide discussion and exploration in a fun and dynamic way
  • the sessions will help participants become aware of patterns of thoughts and behaviours that have caused them to get stuck in the past.
  • with the help of the group, we will develop a tool kit of strategies to break these patterns. This will open the door for better relationships, increased confidence and hope for the future.
  • FREE

A commitment to attend each session is essential.

A new course is starting on Thursday 6 October 2016. To apply for a place please email Sarah or Jill at empower@wellspringtherapy.co.uk or ring 014723 881 881.
