Youth MHFA

Learn to support young people

Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses are for everyone who works with, lives with or supports young people aged 8-18. They will teach you the skills and confidence to spot the signs of mental health issues in a young person, offer first aid and guide them towards the support they need. In doing so, you can speed up a young person’s recovery and stop a mental health issue from getting worse.

The Youth MHFA won’t teach you to be a therapist, but will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis – and even potentially stop a crisis from happening.

Each participant receives a copy of the Youth MHFA Manual.

On completion of the course you will receive a certificate to confirm you are a trained Youth Mental Health First Aider.

The 14 hour training course normally takes place over 2 days, but can also be spread over a number of ½ days or evenings.

Group bookings: £1,500 – minimum group size of 8. Additional participants £100 per person. Maximum group size 16. Prices inclusive of VAT.

Wellspring also runs regular courses open to individual bookings; please see upcoming training for details.
