A message from our Chair of Trustees

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Just over a year ago, we celebrated Wellspring’s 20th anniversary with many of you. It’s been an incredible journey, with thousands benefiting from our support during difficult times.

Like many charities, Wellspring is now facing challenges due to the cost-of-living crisis. Increased demand and reduced income require us to adapt and make changes to ensure our long-term sustainability.

Restructuring for the future

To navigate these turbulent times, we’ve undertaken a comprehensive consultation with staff, clients, and stakeholders. This process has led us to restructure our services, prioritising support for children, young people, and their families. We will continue to serve over 100 adults every week whilst we build up our Children and Young People’s Service.

Why Children and Young People?

National statistics reveal a staggering 445% increase in referrals to children’s mental health services since 2018 in England! Locally, young people and their parents tell us they are facing agonising waits for essential support. By focusing on early intervention, we aim to prevent long-term suffering and build resilience for future generations. We need money to train new Children and Young People counsellors.

How you can help

We remain committed to serving over 150 adults and children weekly, but we need your help to sustain and expand our vital work. Here’s how you can make a difference…

The Big Give this Christmas

This Christmas, we’re participating in the Big Give, a fantastic opportunity to maximise your impact. Your donation will be doubled during this campaign! Put December 3rd in your diary and donate through our campaign page.

With your help, we can overcome these challenges and continue providing vital mental health support to our community. Thank you for your continued partnership with Wellspring.
