What we did in 2023 – read our latest report

At Wellspring, our aim is for clients to leave with “a renewed sense of hope”, having made a difference not just to individual lives, their families and communities, but also to positively impact the wider system of service provision that we operate in.

Our local Mental Health Children’s Commissioner supports our work stating, “Wellspring helps alleviate the growing pressure on NHS Children & Young People’s services.” We are seeing local demand for our service continuing to rise with a 32% increase in referrals since 2021.

What are we doing?

Last year thanks to your support and funding, we were able to offer 5,637 counselling sessions, run Empower groups with 63 young people, support 251 people through our schools service and increase our training offer by 61%.

Find out more about what we did last year and how we did it by reading our 2023 annual report.

We hope you can help?

As a charity we rely heavily on donations and are so grateful for the generous supporters we have. In 2023, over the 5,637 sessions we offered, the average amount we needed to fund was £34.50 per session. Our costs this year are increasing meaning the gap we need to fund is expanding… might you help us bridge this gap?

Would you consider becoming a Friend of Wellspring as a monthly giver so that we can continue our vital services and help us to plan for the future?

We are so grateful for your continued support so that we can make a difference in our local community.

Wellspring is a member of the Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC) – membership number A00111.  As part of the ACC, we are listed on their Accredited Register, which is vetted by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). This membership confirms that we meet PSA standards and reflects our commitment to delivering a high-quality service to everyone we are in contact with.

Additionally, all our qualified counsellors are individual members of a professional counselling body that meets PSA requirements. Student counsellors on placement are enrolled on a Wellspring approved training course that meets the educational standards of the ACC (or an equivalent organisation). These measures ensure our continued commitment to offering accountable, ethical and professional counselling services.
