Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid is the internationally recognised NHS England Course in how to identify and respond to someone developing a mental health issue. Endorsed by both President Obama and Nick Clegg, it will teach you how to:

  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues
  • Provide help on a first aid basis
  • Effectively guide others in the right direction towards support

Supporting Adults:

Two-day Adult Mental Health First Aid

For anyone likely to encounter those at risk of mental health problems – through work, or in themselves, family or friends.

One-Day Adult Mental Health First Aid 

A condensed version of the two-day Adult MHFA course.

Mental Health First Aid Aware 

Introductory four hour session to raise awareness of mental health.

Refresher’s Course

Four hour session to update and refresh your skills – for those who have completed the One-Day or Two-Day Adult MHFA course.

Mental Health Skills for Managers

This is a practical and immersive course for people managers to gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to have effective conversations with staff about mental health and wellbeing.

This four-hour course can be delivered face-to-face or online.

Supporting Youth:

Two-Day Youth Mental Health First Aid

For those who care for, work or live with 8-18 yr olds.

One-Day Mental Health First Aid 

Designed specifically to meet the needs of education providers. Based on the Youth MHFA Course, it covers key issues over one day, making it ideal for inset training days.

This membership confirms that we meet PSA standards and reflects our commitment to delivering a high-quality service to everyone we are in contact with.

Additionally, all our qualified counsellors are individual members of a professional counselling body that meets PSA requirements. Student counsellors on placement are enrolled on a Wellspring approved training course that meets the educational standards of the ACC (or an equivalent organisation). These measures ensure our continued commitment to offering accountable, ethical and professional counselling services.
