A personal message from Wellspring’s Executive Director, Emily Fullarton.

As a new year begins, it will be a new chapter for me and Wellspring, as I have decided it is time for me to move on from my role as Executive  Director. It has been a privilege to lead the organisation through growth and change over the past, almost, 10 years.

In this time I have been humbled to see God’s hand at work with 1000’s of children and adults saying they have experienced hope through counselling sessions at Wellspring.

God’s provision
Taking the baton from Elaine Wainaina, Wellspring’s founder, in 2015 felt like big shoes to fill. I approached things with a lot of naivety, support from some incredible people, a big passion for distressed people to experience hope and love and a lot of faith.

Over this time at Wellspring, I have seen God’s provision in the purchase and completion of a new home for Wellspring, the increase of weekly counselling sessions from 60 to 150 per week, new working partnerships with schools and organisations, the creation of new services including a professional training programme and seeing our work extend to Bradford and York through Wellspring Counselling Centres.

I feel truly blessed to have been a part of this work and part of an organisation that puts people at the centre of every decision. I remain passionate about the work of Wellspring and will continue to be a supporter and part of the Wellspring family.

Handing on the baton

I am really delighted to let you know that our trustees are in the process of appointing Nick Garrett into the role of Chief Executive, Nick has been covering this role whilst I have been on leave. From working alongside Nick I am so pleased to be handing over to someone who I truly believe understands and lives out the vision and values of Wellspring.

I see in Nick what I believe Elaine saw in me, a heart for people, passion for change and the determination to make things happen.

In gratitude

I want to say a huge thank you to all the team who have worked alongside me over the last 10 years. Wellspring relies on volunteers and is blessed to have so many talented and caring people donate their time in different ways. It really wouldn’t exist without these people. I also want to say thank you to our clients who choose to trust us at their most vulnerable and would like to encourage others to continue to ask for help.

Emily Fullarton, Executive Director

Message from Chair of Trustees, John Wood

It is difficult to convey in words the incredible contribution that Emily has made to Wellspring. Since she started, her hard work, dedication and kindness has shone through in all that she has achieved. Thanks to her determination we have been able to help thousands of people in their time of need.

As Trustees we have valued her wisdom, drive to make a difference, faith and compassion, and we wish Emily and her family all the best for the future.
